Hi, I'm Sam! That's me on the right with my family. As an interior designer, I created Sugarcane Home out of a need to provide unique home decor and art for my clients. I fell in love with this whole other creative outlet outside of creating beautiful spaces, I discovered a deep passion for creating things with my own hands and of course over the top holiday decor.

Growing up in New Orleans I learned to truly appreciate the small things in life - soulful art, music that you can’t help but to dance to, a homemade meal shared with the ones you love that drags on for hours as you enjoy the company - and of course our incredible food and spirits. These days I live in Madisonville, Louisiana, a quaint and sleepy little town nestled on the edge of the marsh, just outside of New Orleans where I work from my little studio nestled in the trees..

I have a passion for painting and a love for all things coastal. There's something special about items made the old-fashioned way—slow and handmade—that I deeply appreciate. I adore anything rusty or with chippy paint and enjoy hunting for vintage finds. My home (and my garden) is filled with plants, and I love to start my day with a strong cup of coffee. I also savor a great glass of wine and believe that any day is a good day for champagne.
